Reporting issues and defects
- potholes and damaged sidewalks or road surface
- damaged traffic signage
- defects in underpasses or street furniture
- overflowing bins or abandoned objects
Rules for public space
Busking (street performance)
Amplifiers and loud instruments are not allowed; brass instruments are permitted only with a mute. On even hours, playing is allowed on the right bank of the river, i.e. in the city center, for example on Wenceslas Square or Národní třída.
The time and place of performances are regulated by Decree No. 1/2016 of the Capital City of Prague.
Performance hours: 9:00–21:00
Begging
Begging is prohibited in metro premises, on public transport vehicles, at railway and bus stops, at airports, in the vicinity of kindergartens and primary schools, near diplomatic missions, and in publicly accessible places such as 28. října Street, Na Příkopě, Wenceslas Square, Jindřišská Street, Na Můstku, and Vodičkova Street.
Begging is regulated by Generally Binding Decree No. 14/2000 of the Capital City of Prague.
Report violations to the Municipal Police: 156.
Homelessness, drugs and alcohol
The presence of homeless individuals, substance users, or persons under the influence of alcohol who are loitering inappropriately in the street or disturbing public order should be reported to the Municipal Police at 156.
The consumption of alcohol is regulated by Generally Binding Decree No. 10/2022 of the Capital City of Prague.
Cleanliness and waste
Above-ground bins emptied up to 5× daily, underground containers 2× weekly
Bins are washed once a week or more often as needed
Waste management is governed by Decree No. 20/2022 of the Capital City of Prague.
Deliveries and traffic
Wenceslas Square: deliveries 5:00–10:00
Wenceslas Square from Jindřišská and Vodičkova Streets towards Můstek: deliveries permitted from 5:00 to 10:00.
Wenceslas Square – Můstek, and 28. října Street and Na Příkopě: 6:00–9:00 and 20:00–22:00.
It is also possible to grant an exemption, but only for zero-emission vehicles (from 1 January 2025).
